CURRICULUM

The Manchester Public Schools supports a philosophy of education that the curricula of our school shall reflect the State Frameworks, Common Core of Learning, Federal NCLB regulations as well as the direction found within the Board of Education's mission statement, exemplifying the vision of equity and success for all students.

Curriculum development by the professional staff shall be guided by such factors as:
1) Current knowledge and research regarding the learning and skill development process to enhance instruction;

2) Data representing the benchmark assessments which reflect the needs of pupils in the school district;

3) Support from other types of information used to identify the needs of students enhancing differentiated instruction;

4) Best practices in the classroom, which include the uses of research based instructional practices.


The board, in conjunction with staff, supports provisions allowing opportunities for additional research based professional development activities to be implemented ensuring the most effective implementation of curricula.
