Grading System

The primary purpose of grading shall be to keep parents and students fully informed of student progress and to provide continuous and accurate records of each student's achievement for use in instruction.

Manchester Public Schools, in calculating grade point average and class rank, adjusts for advanced placement and honors courses as articulated in Manchester High School Program of Studies and the Manchester High School Parent and Student Handbook. Manchester "weighs" courses according to the level at which the student takes the course.
